Introduction
What happens if you were to ignore the events that took place in the sequels to Half Life as if they never happened? What happens if Freeman was never put into a long stasis at the end of the game, only to return to Black Mesa once more, to witness the events that take place after his long slumber? One answer to those questions is explored in this ten level journey, where Freeman’s fate has been reversed.

Introduction
It’s been quite a long time since I last played through the previous halfquake titles, the second becoming one of my favourite releases for Half Life. The representation through style, atmosphere and its own soundtrack was a refreshing change. Then out comes this third instalment, perking my interests to jump right back into the sadistic world of halfquake once more. The insanity returns.

Introduction
Not heard from Sam since I turned down the Edridge job as too risky. Now I’m low on funds and have no choice. A gem called the Heart of Lone Salvation which they say brings good luck – but only once. Sounds foolish but who cares? Worth a fortune on the thieves’ market if I can get inside Edridge Hall – and Lord Edridge is very wealthy. Sam knew him from the old days as a common lifter who made good when he found the Heart. It’s a beautiful night – dank, cold; fog’s rolling in; maybe Edridge’s luck is about to run out.

Introduction
It has been a short while since I last played a Duke3D map, and this one caught my attention, not only because it looked interest but also because SalaciusCrumb was behind the level. Same author of Voices of Authority which I gave a (badly written!) review for in the past. The map has you on a small mission to infiltrate the teleportation facility overtaken by the aliens and secure the control room. Secondly you must board the skiff to reach the troop carrier, Athena, and plant a bomb in the reactor core. And escape alive.

But there’s more to this than meets the eye, a bigger picture. You’ve been caught in a trap, but it wasn’t intended for you. Will you look out for yourself, or save someone who needs your help? February 7, 2010 / Doom 2: Hell on Earth
Author: Dutch Devil Release Date: July 7th 2005

Introduction

Decided to give this one a re-review, since I finally reinstalled the games and wish to replay through some levels. This was the first choice on my list and I feel it deserves to have another review along with several other wads. Altar of Evil has you blasting your way through a dark, hellish themed location with many tight corridors and claustrophobic rooms where Imps just can’t wait to sink their claws into you.

Introduction
Released for the Vertical Contest, Garrett’s parser requires him to break into Lady Mossy’s manor in South Quarter, to locate and steal the family scepter. And it is required to find the thing whole, not just a jewel of it. The task does sound really simple and shouldn’t take long. His parser also showed him the location of a storehouse with some equipment, and should start there.
