The Rating System
Single Cog Award
The lowest rating award is only given out to the poor released projects where there is no sense of effort put into the making of the project in both the design and gameplay aspects.
This includes, but is not limited to;
– Incoherent level design.
– Implausible gameplay design.
Double Cog Award
The two cog rating award is given out to releases of a low average calibre where a sense of effort exists, yet the overall release is still of poor quality in both the design and gameplay aspects.
This includes, but is not limited to;
– Poor level design
– Poor gameplay design
Triple Cog Award
The three cog rating award is given out to releases of an average calibre where both design and gameplay aspects are of an average quality throughout the project.
This includes, but is not limited to;
– Decent level design, some form of concept exists.
– Simple gameplay design, decent at best but nothing special.
Quadruple Cog Award
The four cog rating award is given out to releases of an above average calibre where a great sense of effort has been made in either or both of the design and gameplay aspects of the project.
This includes, but is not limited to;
– Good level design, well constructed and concepted.
– Good gameplay design, an enjoyable expierence.
Quintuple Cog Award
The five cog rating award is given out to releases of a high quality standard where a great sense of effort has been made in both the design and gameplay aspects, creating an enjoyable overall expierence.
This includes, but is not limited to;
– Excellent level design, beautifully designed and concepted.
– Excellent gameplay design, an enjoyable and memorable expierence.
Silver Hammer Award
The silver hammer award is a special award given out to projects where either the design or the gameplay aspects are of an excellent quality standard that stands out.
This includes, but is not limited to;
– Level design concepts stand out.
– Level design choices stand out.
– Gameplay design concepts stand out.
– Gameplay design choices stand out.
Gold Hammer Award
The gold hammer award is a special award given out to projects where both the design and gameplay aspects are of an excellent quality standard throughout the overall expierence that also stands out.
This includes, but is not limited to;
– Both level and gameplay design concepts stand out and succeed well.
– Both level and gameplay design choices stand out and succeed well.
– Contains originality in either or both, level design and gameplay choices.
